Please help us to remember and celebrate the life of Marcy Curtis who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025 after a long and courageous battle. Marcy was a loyal and dedicated leader of our organization, having served on the Board of Directors since 2002. May you rest in peace knowing that your contributions and love will forever be felt by all whom you touched.
*Family and friends will be received at 1 pm for a service on Saturday May 17th at Neal Funeral Home in Washington. A celebration of life will be held June 7th at 1 pm at VFW Post 927 in Washington.
Many thanks to Coral Graceton Fire Company for their generosity in helping us with fundraising for our organization!
We are asking our members and members of the community to remain vigilant and help us to obtain leads on potentially viable property for our organization's use to maintain our mission goals. Please reach out to President, Scott Gregory at (412) 596-8457 if you have any questions or have information regarding a property parcel.
At Western PA Wounded Warriors, our mission is to improve the lives of those in need by providing essential services and support to our communities. WPAWW donated this year to the VFW 927 Post Auxiliary to help purchase products for stockings that were donated to the 16 veterans in residence at City Missions Patriot House. One of the many examples of how our board and members give back to those who have served our country.
A huge thank you to the Blue Knights for their generosity to Western Pa Wounded Warriors with their $1000 donation on Tuesday, October 22nd at the Masonic Lodge in Washington, Pa. from the proceeds of The Blue Ride!
Many great thanks to Don Hebenthal and the Hebenthal Pulling Team, the tractor pulling fans and all those who attended Burrell Township's Fun in the Park held on Saturday, June 22nd at Saylor Park. Donors like you are vital to the success of our organization and we express our most sincere gratitude to the generosity of the many who have given their time, talent and philanthropy to our mission of helping our veterans and disabled.

Thank you for visiting our website. Since 2002 we have relied on the community for 100% of our support. We are a small volunteer organization, 501(c)(3) certified. We are NOT associated with the Wounded Warrior Project (est. 2003) or other national groups in any way.
The money we raise stays in Southwestern PA and enables and empowers veterans and people with disabilities to come together to participate in fantastic outdoor experiences. Activities including wheelchair accessible pontoon boating, target shooting, ham and bacon shoots, fishing tournaments, small game hunting, turkey and deer hunting, as well as a variety of community events and fundraisers.
Together, we can make 2024 even better for our veterans. Thank you for supporting our organization. Please feel free to contact us! Thank you all again for your support.
In 2002, Bud West founded the Western Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. The original focus was helping paralyzed veterans through fishing until the group obtained the land lease in 2005. In 2007, the group became incorporated. Sadly, in 2010 Bud passed away, but his legacy lives on through the work of our amazing volunteers and strong Board of Directors.
We believe that hunting and fishing should be accessible for everyone, regardless of disability. We serve both military and civilian disabled persons who enjoy hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. The only way they can do so is with the assistance of the Wounded Warrior volunteers who are physically able to help them.
